Education

Arissan Foundation believes that education is the key to growth in the life of individuals.  The foundation contributes to the development of the school infrastructure and facilitates the education system by providing necessary equipment and supplies to provide uncompromised primary education to the underprivileged deserving students.

We are focused towards increasing the number of students in the formal school system.  This will help groom the future generation and facilitate further empowerment activities. We are committed to enhance the learning capacity of the children and to arrest drop-outs. Innovative programs like mobile village level libraries, computer literacy and science club are being implemented to increase the interest of children in academics and make learning more interesting and interactive.

Arissan Foundation gives special emphases on adult education and has initiated various adult literacy camps from time to time so as to increase the literacy level in the villages for both males and females. Language proficiency classes will also be conducted for qualifying the youth of the village thus enabling them to be employable. Arissan also focuses on physical education and promotes sports among the people.

Some work done by us in area of education (Banka district, Bihar):

1. 400 school bags along with pencil boxes and basic stationery were distributed near the project affected areas at Kadragora, Laromati & Chorakol villages.
2. Upgradation of toilet facilities in Middle school, Gokhara in the village of Gokhara.
3. Drawing competition for the school students was arranged by Arissan Foundation during the month of May 2011 where 700 students attended the event and total 16 villages were covered for promoting this event. Participants were sponsored by Arissan Foundation wherein they have been provided with all drawing materials, caps etc. The winner’s schools fees for the next 2 years were sponsored by Arissan Foundation.
4. Cultural programs are organized regularly in association with local schools to give impetus to children to show their talents.
5. Arissan Foundation organizes Arissan Champions League football tournament among the local club members in association with Banka Sports Association for talent in Banka district where 12 teams (100 players) participate. In the 2011 version around 1500 villagers attended the football tournament around the project area. Arissan Foundation conducted the tournament to promote sportsmanship among the youth in & around Banka district. It was very well received by the people, motivated the youngsters and created awareness among the new generation about the sport.
